Andy Chan, 38, has been the head cross country and track & field coach at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco since 1998 and currently serves as Pamakid Runners Club president. His achievements include:

  • Masters in sports management

  • Coached four state-caliber athletes, including a two-time California State Champ!
  • Helped 2008 Olympian Shannon Rowbury (whom he coached in high school) with her training leading up to the Olympic Games
  • Coaches 2008 Olympic Trials qualifier Michelle Gallagher, who ran a 2:43:30 at the 2007 California International Marathon

Catering for the event is being sponsored by the East Bay Spouses Association. Part of the registration cost will go towards the Layette program, scholarships, and other charitable programs administered by the Spouses.

The Layette Program benefits Active duty Coast Guard families, E-5 or below, who are stationed in the San Francisco Bay area and expecting a new baby or just had one.  A layette is a collection of clothing for a newborn child.  The term “layette set” is commonly used to refer to gift sets of baby clothes.  Typically the following items go in each basket: receiving blanket, towel/washcloth set, sleeper, onesies, diapers, small toy, bib, socks, outfit, etc.   More information on the association can be found below.
