The Relay


“California’s Longest Party” is on – from Calistoga in Napa Valley to Sonoma, Marin, Sausalito, across the Golden Gate Bridge under a full moon, to San Francisco, Palo Alto and Silicon Valley to the ocean in Santa Cruz County. Featuring the beauty of the Bay Area, The Relay course boasts many tourist destinations.

Teams of 12 each run three legs in rotation. The 36 legs through 36 cities are 3 to 8 miles and rated easy to very hard allowing runners to select legs that match their strengths. Runners of all abilities are challenged, contribute and have a great time.  The Relay raises funds for Organs ‘R’ Us.

2011 Relay Teams:

  • Sailors with a Running Problem (Captain – Ken Burgess) will return as the official entrant of the CG Running Club.  Last years 3rd place overall finish in under 24 hours has set the bar high.
    • Team: Jeremy Yandell, Matt Eyler, Frank Pierce, Luke Petersen, Nate Menefee, Mike Mrkvicka, Travis Hall, Kevin Grickis, Tom Pequignot, Tom Remmers, Steve Arnwine
  • Rodeo Clowns – TRACEN Petaluma (Captain – Larry Ramirez-Garcia).
  • Team Chasing Booty (Captain – Rob Shaye)
    • Team: Stephanie Ronchetto, Loring Sittler, Heather Lampert, Eda Wu, Paul Lillis, Matthew Cardamone, Erika Cardamone, Andrew Stubblefield, Nathan Gingerich

Each team must raise $600 for Organs R Us in order to compete in the race.  Thanks to everyone for their past and future donations -  We’ve reach our goal through online and offline fundraising!
