Membership
Welcome to the membership page. Here is a one stop shop to joining, renewing, volunteering and even updating your membership information (because maybe you transferred?).
You can join the club below. After joining you’ll receive a confirmation email with more information about the club and directions on registering in the directory. In the past all first year memberships were $30 with a club T. Since we are currently out of stock of some sizes, we are now offering membership for a year for just $15. If you would like a T-shirt with your membership, just add one to the cart from the apparel page. On the left is an upgrade option to get a jersey with your membership at a discounted rate (please check apparel page to make sure your size is available). Memberships are considered “family” memberships – all members share a member number. If your spouse would like to be listed in the directory as well, when you recieve the membership directory information request, please have them fill out teh form as well. All mailings are by household, so only one per family. Thanks!

Membership packages are mailed out as promptly as possible. The membership package includes your copy of the membership directory and other club produced publications.

Membership Directory: We recently added some more information to the directory. You can include: National position, Chapter Position, being a captain or member of a team, event or program director, up to 6 lines beyond positions in the club. Repeat participation will be captured on the same line, i.e Tom’s Run 08,09,10 When in doubt, if it deals with CG athletics, it can probably be included. This is new, and we’re working on compiling the information. In the end, we’ll have a good organizational history of our participation in events. Volunteer to help with the club as a Race Director, Event Organizer, Team Captain, Program Director, Committee Member, or to help with other club administration. Our club is only as good as it’s members, and only as great as it’s volunteers. Certain volunteer positions earn free membership for the follow on year as well as additional benefits, because these members contribute the most to furthering the mission of the club. Volunteers are recognized in the directory.
Race Director - lead organizer of an event hosted by the USCG Running Club. These can be free, raise money for a charity, or raise money for your local chapter. We have many members experienced in race directing and this network would be available for assistance.
Event Organizer – similar to a race director, but not restricted to races only – an event organizer is lead POC for a non-race event which the running club is hosting. For example, G3 is hosting the PAUSATF LDR Banquet in February 2010 and a member of the chapter will be the Event Organizer.
Team Captain - Any team event needs a Team Captain. The heart and sole of the running club are our teams that’s why these volunteers are some of the most important. Any team event counts – or large group participation in a single event even if there is not a team category. The positive presence of the Coast Guard in a community event is the goal.
Program Director – In it for the long haul, a program director is the lead for a series of events like a beginning running class, a training program, or a race series hosted or sponsored by the club.
Committee Member – The club needs direction and it should come from within. We’re constantly trying to improve services to our membership. In order to do this we have comittees for various service categories. Apparel, Newsletter, Sponsorship, Chapter Organization, Publications, etc. Ideally in the future each chapter will lead a comittee and take on responsibility for that aspect of the club.
